Hope.... Be strong and take heart

Posted by on

You’re helping Hope… and others.  At Collect and Conquer we have big hearts and at the centre is our love for people.  We love being able to reach out and help those in need.  5% profit of each and every piece purchased from our store goes towards helping others conquer their battles.
We have both travelled and seen others in need and it has forever touched and changed our hearts and minds.  There is nothing like seeing a need and being able to help meet it.  We want to be able to help bring change and freedom to people's lives.

Meet Hope, a beautiful girl who lives in The House of Aroha (The House of Love) in Jinja, Uganda.  She is 11 years old and was abandoned after her father passed away due to HIV and her mother was too sick to care for her.  She was fortunate to be led to The House of Aroha at the tender age of 3yrs.  The House of Aroha was founded by Tent Peg Ministries and is run by Ida, a local in the community of Namulesa.  Since Hope has been a part of the House of Aroha community she has been tested for HIV which thankfully, returned a with a negative result.

I have been lucky enough to have travelled to Jinja twice and spent time with Hope.  She has such a beautiful soul.  At the age of only 11 she has been through a lot yet she still has such a gentle heart who always means what she says.  Her caring heart is always noticed by others and when she tells you of her dream of being a nurse it seems like the perfect fit for her.  She loves school and is so grateful for the opportunity to attend.  School for us is part of the norm but for kids like Hope, it is only for a select few, and she is so happy she’s one of the ‘lucky’ kids.  She’s seeing and experiencing that dreams can come true.  You’re helping in her journey!

As it is written in Isaiah ‘those who hope in the Lord, renew their strength’ this is true for her.  Her hope and her freedom is found in something greater than this world.  We will be blogging about Hope’s journey regularly and we will also be extending our reach so stay tuned and see how and what you are contributing to.  We want to say a BIG thank you to YOU, for sharing in our vision of reaching out and sharing an ever changing love.

Sending love
